Duval T-2 Place US Open 2009

Name from the past David Duval had to come through qualifing to even play in the US Open, to finish second was a strong showing from the former Open Champion.

There can’t be many games where a player can be number one in the world, have a slump where they fall to low 800 in the world. Then come through the qualifing stages of a major and tie for second place. Golf has so many great points to it and this story has to be one of them.

The big question now is can Duval keep his turn of form going and regain some of him former class. His slump was made harder with injuries and family issues, but is Duval now comfortable at home and in his own body to be the player he once was on the world stage?

Time will tell.
