Golf in the winter in the UK can be a sport sometimes only for the brave. This picture was taken on the October 12th and I was hitting golf balls in my shirt. We all know what is around the corner so days like this are all that more enjoyable.
Who needs Galvin Green our Under Armour Cold Gear base layers on days like this. Unfortuantly we all need them because tommorrow could be wet and cold.
Golf will hear it’s fate as an Olympic Sport later today. If graunted then the 2016 games will stage a golf event. Golf was included in the Olympics back in 1904 but was dropped due to it’s lack of physical exertion. If the game is approved then the question is, will it become the golfing major or will it be a substandard event in the already busy golfing calander.
Golf does enjoy a very strong and exciting world ametuer game, which if included in the Olympics would become one the games biggest prizes. It makes me think of tennis, can anyone remember who won Olympic gold for tennis in the last games. People still talk about Federer and Nadal in the Wimbledon final. Or the Federer Roddick epic of 2009.
Does golf need another major, it has four and many other great world events. Or do the worlds best just want a chance to own an Olympic medal. I guess every sporting celeb would love to see or own an Olympic medal but maybe it needs to mean more than that.
